St. Louis’ Vegetarian and Vegan Website

Top 10 Vegetarian Ballparks

Lucky for us we have one right here in St. Louis.  St. Louis’ own Busch Stadium is ranked number 10.

The Shangri-La Diner: 2201 Cherokee Street.  http://www.theshangriladiner.com/

This is a relatively new establishment offering quality food with a slight emphasis on healthier eating.  Though it is not strictly a vegetarian/vegan restaurant they offer a variety of vegan options including vegan burgers, chili, African spinach stew and more.  Shangri-La also specializes in serving breakfast food including tofu scramble, vegan breakfast meats and hash browns.  Due to the fact that this place is pretty new the service can be a bit slow but the food is quality and in my experiences has been well worth the wait.

Sen Thai Asian Bistro: 1221 Locust Street. http://www.senthaibistro.com/

This joint is a great place to hit up some Asian influenced fare.  They boast a menu that includes traditional Thai cuisine as well as Japanese and Chinese.  On a recent visit I decided to give the red curry dish a try.  The dish consisted of a sweet/spicy coconut-milk curry accompanied by tofu and mixed vegetables. I suggest adding extra broccoli to the dish.  All of the curry dishes come with steamed Thai Jasmine rice on the side.  They also have vegan friendly miso soup, vegetable fried rice (minus the egg of course) and some great spring rolls.

Crazy Bowls and Wraps: multiple locations.  http://www.crazybowlsandwraps.com/

CBW is a St. Louis staple with a new location pretty recently opening on Delmar in the U-city loop.  While also not a strictly vegan place it is a great place to get a good stir-fry bowl or a bowl of beans and rice.  CBW is a dope spot because it's fast and cheap (most items about 5 bucks or less) they even list the vegan items right on the menu.  They will be offering a vegan curry bowl coming this fall, check it out!

Welcome to the St. Louis website for everything vegetarian and vegan.  This is a new site and will be updating constantly.   On this site you can find the best places to eat vegetarian and vegan food, the most friendly vegan and vegetarian places.

Everest Cafe: 1916 Washington Ave (between 19th and 20th streets)

This little gem serves up quality dishes that draw from Nepalese and Korean influences.  The cuisine itself could be compared that of Indian food (similar in spices and tastes).  Everest aims to promote a healthy lifestyle by serving great tasting wholesome food.  It has many vegan options as most of the sauces consist solely of crushed tomato and onion.  We recommend the Tofu Sag Takari which is served with baby spinach over steamed basmati rice.  The lentil soup is a delicious complement to any entree.  Check them out for a lunch-time visit where you can hit up the pocket-friendly buffet for a taste of everything.
